Hi Everyone!

We had a great class on Friday, although we missed Marcedes. Hope to see you next week!

Whole Group

• We began the lesson by spending some time reviewing some musical theory.
• We began by writing all the correct notes on the Grand Staff, and then played the Note Naming Game in Theory Thinker on the computer.
• Then I spent some time reminding you about intervals. Remember, an interval is the distance between two notes. You count the bottom and top notes, and then every line and space inbetween.
• This week we discussed the difference between harmonic and melodic intervals.
• Then, we listened again to some different intervals which I played to you to see if you could identify them. You heard 2nds, 3rds, 4ths and 5ths.
• At the keyboards, you quickly played me your C Major scales, and then you took time to choose your individual pieces to work on. I’m really looking forward to hearing them next week!
• To finish off the lesson we had some free time to explore the games in Children’s Music Journey.

Home Assignments;

• Keep on practising your C Major and C Contrary scale everyday!
• Print out and try this worksheet and see if you can name all the intervals!
