Hello Everybody!
We began this week with a fun rhythm session. Instead of just using our hands to make rhythm patterns, we used different parts of our bodies. We tapped our shoulders, our heads, our laps and even made our noses beep! Eventually, we even began to do the ‘hand jive!’ (Pancakes, potatoes and curly fries!)
Then we clapped through some rhythms written using whole, half and quarter notes. Good job, everyone!
Level 1B, Lesson 24 – Liam
- Today, you met up with Mr Villa Lobos and played through some more songs for both hands using grown up notes!
- You remembered that a whole note was worth 4 counts, a half note is worth 2 counts, and a quarter note is worth 1 count! Good job!
- Today, you also learned about dotted half notes, worth 3 counts.
- To finish off, you played some Games and visited the Improvisation Room for some fun!
Home Assignments for Level 1B
- Print out this activity sheet all about whole, half, quarter and dotted half notes!
Level 2B, Lesson 49 – Samantha, Ethan, Olivia A and Callie

- Mr Satie and Miss Melody helped you to perform ‘Old MacDonald’ and ‘Yankee Doodle’ for them in a recital!
- You also tried some more rhythm tapping with the Woodpecker.
- To finish off, you had some free time to spend in the Games Room.
- Next week, we’ll begin Level 2C!

Piano Suite Level 2 - Talan
- Your scales and exercises are coming along really well now, Talan! Keep up the good work!

- In Piano Player you spent some time working on your new songs, ‘Three Blind Mice” and ‘Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush!’

- To finish off, you spent some free time playing musical games, competing with Olivia!
