This class of girls gets along extremely well, and there’s quite a bit of “peer helping” in this class. This is especially true with the music games which reinforce concepts such as pitch and rhythm. If one student doesn’t understand how a game works, another student will help out by demonstrating. Today our teachers were Mr. Bach and Mr. Scott Joplin. Some of the students have started reading music notes on regular music lines, and playing songs such as “Mary Had a Little Lamb”. We have been learning the finger numbers on each hand, remembering that the thumbs are always Number One. We sang a song about the Finger Numbers and the Musical Alphabet Song, which is sung to the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”.
