Lesson 17:
Today was all about playing and singing songs! We started off the class by meeting with Miss Mendelssohn and doing two different lessons on playing and singing songs such as Mary Had A Little Lamb.
These lessons were a lot of work, so we went to see Miss Melody in the practice room to work a little more on these fantastic new songs!
To finish off the class, we spent a little time practising our Musical Alphabet backwards, and then went to the Games Room to enjoy the rest of the class!
I had a great time with you today! See you in two weeks!
Home Assignments For The Week & Reminders:
1- Print out and complete your weekly worksheet!
2- Print out any of the songs from this page and work on them at home!
3- Keep working on clapping different rhythms.
4- Practice saying your musical alphabet, both forwards and backwards every day!
Lesson 50:
Today, our teacher was named Mr. Satie. He helped us learn how we play with a steady beat. He had a woodpecker friend that helped us count by tapping a steady beat while we played the notes.
Playing with a steady beat is a very important part of learning any musical instrument. It is just as important, maybe even more important than playing the right notes.
After this important lesson, we headed over to the practice room to see Miss Melody, and then we went to the Games Room. This took up the rest of the time we had! Great work!
Home Assignments For The Week & Reminders:
1- Print out Old Grey Goose for a song to work on at home. Make sure you are using a steady beat!
2- Have someone clap a steady beat while you try and improvise short melodies!
3- Take time to review your musical alphabet, both forwards and backwards.
4- Print out and complete your weekly worksheet!
Piano Suite Level 1:
To start off the class today, we reviewed our note reading once again. Please do take the time to finish off your note reading worksheet at home. Note reading is an essential skill to playing piano, or any other instrument and I promise that you will be the hang of it quickly. It just takes regular practice!
Heading over to the pianos, I watched you both spend some time practising Row, Row, Row and Pop Goes The Weasel. Don’t forget to take the time to properly read the notes and place your hands according to the finger numbers! This will make playing much easier!
To finish off the class, you had a few minutes of free time to check out other pieces of your choice.. See you after next week! Please remember to come straight to MusIQ Club after your class gets out so we can maximize our time together!
Things To Work On:
1- Name the notes on this sheet!
2- Practice Pop Goes The Weasel.
3- Practice Row, Row, Row.
