It was nice to see you yesterday, and we had a fun class together!
Lesson 12 – Parker, Carter, Christopher and Bella (See you next week, Sydney!)
- We began by spending some time having a good look at the keyboard. We talked about how the notes go higher and higher, and lower and lower up and down the keyboard. We also looked at the black notes and reminded ourselves how they were grouped.
- Then we spent a little time talking about our finger numbers before we headed over to the computers.
- This week, Mr Joplin helped us to make our five finger ant tunnels once more, but this time we used our left hand, with the notes going down. You placed your thumbs on Middle C, and then each finger sats on a neighbouring white note, leaving room for an ant to crawl underneath!
- To finish off, we had some free time in the Games Room.

- If you haven’t done this yet, print out this sheet all about the Musical Alphabet. Can you trace over the letters?
- Print out this sheet and see if you can write the correct letter on the white notes!
Lesson 9 (Review) – Drea, Dalice, William B-P and Joshua (See you next week, Tim!)
- We began by spending some time having a good look at the keyboard. We talked about how the notes go higher and higher, and lower and lower up and down the keyboard. We also looked at the black notes and reminded ourselves how they were grouped.
- Today, we worked with Mr Bach once more to make sure that we were really confident about how to read and play circle notes going higher and higher, and lower and lower.
- Then you practiced playing some rhythms on middle C too!
- To finish off the lesson, you spent some time in the Games Room playing Jungle Girl, the Train Game and Princess Story.

Lesson 7 - Cale (See you next week William N)
- This week, Cale worked with Mr Bach once more and learned more about holding notes.
- Remember, when you see the numbers next to the circle notes, you have to hold the note down and count. You had to play 2 count notes, 3 count notes and even 4 count notes!
- This week you tried hard with the rhythm tapping with Miss Melody and Mr Bach.
- To finish off, you went to the Games Room for a while… before you suddenly switched off the computer! Ooops!
Home Assignments
- On a sheet of blank paper, draw the Middle C line horizontally across the middle. Now see if you can compose your own circle note composition. Remember to include high circle notes, low circle notes, Middle C’s and now holding notes!
- Have a go at rhythm clapping at home. Ask a friend to write the numbers 1 2 3 4 on a blank piece of paper, and then add dots between the numbers like we do in class. Can you clap the rhythms?
Lesson 3 – Jacob, Cameron and Ava
- Today, everybody was fantastic at showing me where high notes, low notes and Middle C was on the keyboard! Well done!
- Then, we made up some funny phrases like, “My sister eats cupcakes,” and “My feet smell like roses.” Together we tried to clap as we said the words and listened for the short and long sounds.
- At the computer, Mr Beethoven showed us how short and long sounds make up cool rhythms. You did a great job at copying the rhythms by tapping on Middle C!
- To finish off, you had time to visit the Games Room where you found you had a new game called ‘Bongo Boy.’ Some of you even managed to repeat Bongo Boy’s rhythms back perfectly! Brilliant!
Home Assignments
- Keep making up funny word phrases, like “Puppy dogs run so fast!” See if you can clap the rhythm of the words.
- If you have a piano at home, keep making up your own music, and have fun!
