We were introduced today to a woman composer named Miss Mendelssohn. We talked about and played some basic 4 & 3 beat rhythms, and discussed how most music we listen to is based on these time signatures.

- Print out and complete this activity sheet!
- Try to find all the C’s on your keyboards at home (if you have one!). Remember, the C’s are to the left of the group of two black notes. How quickly can you find all the C’s from the bottom to the top?
Level 1B, Lessons 15 , 16, 17
- Lesson 15 with Mr Joplin – he reminded you all about finger numbers and the musical alphabet.
- Played some songs for both hands which had you reading circle notes moving in step motion.
- Lesson 16 had you met a new teacher called Miss Fanny Mendelssohn. She helped you to play even more songs which moved in a stepping motion. For these you used fingers 1, 2, 3 and 4 of each hand.
- Lesson 17 had Miss Mendelssohn show you how to play and sing songs using notes moving in a stepping motion.
- In C position, you used your five finger ant tunnels beautifully to play lots of circle note tunes.
- Beginning to use circle notes on lines and spaces to show them moving up and down in steps.
- In the Games Room, you played the Lilly Pad game.
