Hammonds Plains, Grades P-5, Tuesdays from 8:00-9:00 (Nov 24)

Lesson 38:

In today’s class with Mrs. Beach, we learnt a few more songs on the Grand Staff that require us to use both of our hands at the same time. You all did a great job with this, and we spent even more time getting used to playing with both hands during our practice session with Miss Melody.

After such hard work, we took some time to relax in the games room, and then you all went to the improvisation room. Then the bell rang! Look at how time flies by when you are having fun! See you all next week!

Home Assignments For The Week & Reminders:

1- Keep practicing Row, Row, Row from last week.

2- Spend some time improvising every day!

3- Try printing out a Grand Staff from here and write down some of the melodies you come up with while improvising. Feel free to bring them to class next week! See you there!

4- Print out and complete your weekly activity sheet!

5- Bring a friend to class next week!

Lesson 48:

In today’s lesson, Mr. Satie spent some time helping us play some new songs that were written out on the Grand Staff. While playing through these songs, we took the time to make sure we were using all of our fingers, instead of playing with just our two pointer fingers.

After spending some time with Miss Melody in the practice room, we all went to the Games Room to relax, and we also spent some time working on Ode To Joy in the improvisation room. Great work everyone!

1- Print out a copy of Row, Row, Row, if you didn’t last week, and spend some time practicing it.

2- Keep working on Old Grey Goose.

3- Improvise every single day! If you want a copy of Ode to Joy please just email me and ask!

4- Print out and complete your weekly worksheet!

5- Bring a friend to class next week!

Piano Suite Level 1:

You started off the class by spending some time doing rhythm training in Ear Training Coach. You had to listen to a rhythm (twice) and then play it back using Middle C on your piano. It was tricky at first, but after only a few tries, you started getting the hang of it. Great work!

Heading into Piano Player, you spent some time playing Merry Farmer and then I sat with you for about 15 minutes or so going over each hand separately, paying attention to the fingering and the rhythm and all the other important little details that one sometimes misses when practising on their own.

To finish off the class, you worked on a piece of your choice, which was Shoo Fly, Don’t Bother Me! Great work today! See you next week!

Things To Work On:

1- Complete this triad sheet.

2- Practice any pieces you have at home.

3- Work on this technique sheet.

4- Bring a friend to class next week!
