Allegro Childcare, from 2:00-3:00, Thursday July 16th, 2009.

Lesson 10:

Yesterday we learnt how to play different amounts of notes going outwards from Middle C, and today, we learnt how to play notes going towards Middle C. You all did a great job at making sure to always have enough room for the notes to come!

We then headed to the Practice Room for some extra playing, and then into the Games Room and Improvisation room we went! See you all tomorrow!

Here is your activity sheet for the day!

Lesson 19:

Today, Miss Mendelssohn started teaching us about grown up notes! these notes, are still circles, but are written on a series of lines instead. Each line and each space is worth one white key on the piano. Great work everyone! See you all tomorrow!

Here is an activity sheet for you!

Lesson 36:

Today, after some great playing with Mrs. Beach, she taught us how to tap different rhythms using Middle C.  The rhythms today, were written out with note values, instead of numbers. You did a fantastic job! Try creating your own rhythm challenges at home!

After some Games and Improvisation Room, our time had run out! See you tomorrow!

Here is an activity sheet for you!

Piano Suite 1:

Today we reviewed some notes, and then we spent some time learning a new song, On Top of Old Smokey! Great work! We also took some time to learn about rests and how they are just like notes and must be counted, but they are not played.

To finish things off, you spent some more time working on your pieces and then you tried the Music Memory Challenge game! Great work!

Piano Suite 2:

You spent your lesson today reviewing your rests, and then you tried playing MacPherson’s Lament. Great work. You also kept working on Let It Be, paying close attention to all the rests and the rhythm!

Then you wanted to go play the Music Memory game, and this took up the rest of our time. See you tomorrow!
