Allegro Childcare, from 2:00-3:00, Wednesday, July 15th, 2009.

Everyone Together:

You all said you had a great time at the Jazz Fest today. Aren’t music festivals amazing?!? They are definitely one of my favorite summer activities!

We listened to a few different pieces by a composer named John Cage. He was very well known for his ultra weird music. He even did weird things like putting objects inside the piano before playing it!

Lesson 9:

Today, Mr. Bach taught us how to play notes that are going higher and higher, and lower and lower. This was tricky at first because you need to make sure to always leave enough room for the notes that are coming up. After a few tries, you were all doing a great job! See you tomorrow!

Here is your activity sheet!

Lesson 17:

Miss Mendelssohn helped us learn a few singing and playing songs! These are all songs that you have probably heard and you could sign along with as you play! Good work you two!

We also got to play some Games and experimented with different background music in the Improvisation Room. See you tomorrow!

Here is your activity sheet!

Lesson 35:

Today, Mr. Mozart taught us about 3 notes in the Bass Clef. We learnt how to play a C, a B and an A all with our left hand! Great work! We then used these new notes in a few songs, as well as in a few games in the Games Room. Great work! See you tomorrow!

Here is an activity sheet for you!

Piano Suite Both Levels:

We had a great class today! First, we started off with you each practicing the pieces you have been working on. I took time to listen to each of you play and offered a few suggestions. Watch out for the finger numbers and counting girls!

After this great practice, you took some time to play the Grand Staff Battle, and you also tried out the Concentration Game. One of you was even able to finish it before class was over! Great work! See you tomorrow!
