Lesson 3:
Long-Short-Short-Long-Long-Long! Today’s class was all about rhythm. Rhythm, is a pattern of long and short beats. A beat, well, is kind a “thump”, a note being played, or anything else that makes a single sound. Your heart beat is a beat that you have always have and probably hardly ever remember!
Mr. Beethoven helped us practice our notes a little more today, and then we spent some time playing different rhythms, with catchy sayings, on Middle C. Great work everyone!
Lesson 14:
Today, Mr. Jopline taught us about musical steps, and the musical alphabet! A musical step, is when the notes go from one note to their neighbour! This would also mean their letter name follows the alphabet!
The musical alphabet goes from A to G, and then repeats, over and over all the way up the keyboard.
Great work everyone! See you tomorrow!
Here is your activity sheet for the day!
Lesson 31:
In today’s lesson, you played some more songs with a new teacher, who’s name was Mr. Mozart. Mr. Mozart had us play some songs that used even more grown up notes than in our lesson with Mr. Dvorak! Great work! Isn’t it great to be able to play all of these neat songs!
We will be talking about Mr. Mozart in class tomorrow! See you there!
Here is your activity sheet for the day!
Lesson 40:
In today’s lesson, your teacher, Mrs. Beach, taught you about a very special type of barline. This barline is thick, and has two little dots in each clef. It is called a Repeat Sign. It tells you to go back to the beginning and play the piece again! Great work!
Here is your worksheet for the day! See you tomorrow!
Piano Suite 1:
Today, you learnt about note reading, and how we can use the clef symbols to identify certain notes on the Grand Staff. The Treble (G) clef helps us find a G, and the Bass (F) clef helps us find an F. Don’t forget that we can always find Middle C, and if you could 3 spaces out from there, you will find a C in each clef as well!
You then took some time to practice Old Gray Goose, trying it with your right hand, and your left hand! Great work! See you tomorrow!
Here’s a copy of Old Grey Goose to print at home!
Piano Suite 2:
In today’s class, we continued our work with your Legato and Staccato playing technique! Great work. It’s really starting to sound amazing!
We also started working on Farewell to Nova Scotia! You seem to really like this piece, so we will keep working on it for the next few days! See you tomorrow!
