Hi everyone!
We had a great class on Tuesday!
CMJ 1A – We began our class today by identifying if 2-note intervals (Mi-Do; Do-Mi) were going higher or lower. We did Lesson 9 – ‘Higher and Higher, Lower and Lower’ with Mr. Bach, practiced with Miss Melody, and played the game ‘Cliffhanger’ in the games room. We told a story about going higher and lower, and students had a chance to demonstrate this on the piano. We also did Lesson 10 – ‘Towards Middle C’ with Mr. Bach, practiced again with Miss Melody, and played all four of the games available in the games room. We practiced the ensemble piece Ode To Joy, and for those who are ready, they will play this ensemble piece for the recital. We finished the class in the improvisation room.
CMJ 2B – We began our class with Lesson 46 – ‘Bass Clef G’ with Mr. Satie. We practiced our lesson with Miss Melody, and played games 6, 7 and 8 in the games room. We did some Grand Staff Spelling, finding all the words we could with the musical alphabet notes. We practiced our ensemble piece Row, Row, Row Your Boat, which will be the ensemble piece for the recital. We talked about the life and music of Mr. Erik Satie, and finished the class in the improvisation room, improvising in Middle C position.
CMJ 2C – We began our class with Lesson 57 – ‘3/4 time signature’, with Mr. Chopin, practiced what we had learned with Miss Melody, and played games 1, 7, 9 and 10. We took turns creating some 3/4 time signatures, making sure to include some eighth notes. Students took sometime to practice the ensemble piece Row, Row, Row Your Boat, and this will be the ensemble piece for the recital. We ended the class in the improvisation room.
Great work everyone! I will see you on Tuesday!
