Today in MusIQ Club!

Hi everyone! 

We had a great class yesterday!  It was class number 9, and we did a lot of practice for the recital! 

CMJ 1A – We began our class today by reviewing what we had learned about Mr. Joplin’s life and music.  We did Lesson 12 – ‘Left Hand Ant Tunnels’ with Mr. Joplin, practiced with Miss Melody, and played all of the games in the games room.  We practiced our ensemble piece Ode To Joy, and students will perform this piece together next week, if it’s ready to perform.  Students should practice this piece at home this week.  Students also picked out their solo pieces, which are pieces that we have been practicing through the weeks.  We finished the class in the improvisation room. 

CMJ 1B – We began our class today with Lesson 23 – Whole Notes’ with Mr. Villa Lobos, practiced with Miss Melody, and played all of the games in the games room.  We reviewed what we had learned about Mr. Villa Lobos, and talked some more about his life and music, and the different types of pieces he composed.  We practiced Ode To Joy, which will be our ensemble piece for next week, if it’s ready to perform.  Students also picked out their ensemble pieces, which are pieces that we have been practicing through the weeks.  We finished the class in the improvisation room.
