We had a small class today. It was nice to see everyone present, except for Kayley, Skylar and Laura. They are away on vacation.
Level 1A (Devin, Duncan, Kate, Adrianne and Neil):
- Completed Lesson 9 – “Notes getting higher and higher and notes getting lower and lower“.
- Above the line you can have notes that are medium high or very high, and below the line you can have notes that are medium low or very low.
- Practiced hearing and identifying notes that were going higher and higher or lower and lower.
- Reviewed 4-beat rhythms.
- Played legato and staccato in the Improvisation room too.
Level 1B (Joe and Abby):
- Completed Lesson 24 and 25.
- Practiced songs and Performed for your ‘Virtual Recital’ to officially complete CMJ vol. 1.
- Reviewed the musical alphabet and note values (quarter, half, dotted half and whole notes).
- Played Ear-training Games and Rhythm Exercises (4-beat rhythm playbacks).
- Improvised in Middle C position.
Level 2A (Luke and Tyler):
- Completed lesson 34.
- Learned the Treble Clef notes C, D and E in the Grand Staff.
- Practiced new Grand Staff songs, like ‘Hot Crossed Buns’.
- Learned more about the history of Mozart. Listened to Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.
- Played the game ‘Guitar Girl’ and Improvised.
At the end of class we reviewed our musical alphabet together. We also played rhythm clapping challenges for each other. Excellent work.
